The Master of Public Health (MPH) program at the University of Chicago offers a comprehensive and interdisciplinary education designed to equip students with the skills necessary to address diverse public health challenges. Taught primarily by faculty from the Department of Public Health Sciences within the Biological Sciences Division, the program emphasizes proficiency across key public health disciplines, including biostatistics, epidemiology, health policy and management, social and behavioral sciences, and environmental health sciences. Students have the option to specialize in one of four concentrations: Epidemiology & Global Health, Health Policy, Data Science, and Community Health Promotion, allowing for a tailored approach to their specific interests and career goals.
Guided by a vision of improved population health and decreased mortality and morbidity, the program is committed to training public health practitioners who integrate scientific research, data analysis, and community partnerships to develop sustainable, evidence-based solutions. Students and faculty work closely together, engaging in meaningful research, real-world projects, and service opportunities with a focus on equity, innovation, and social impact.
